CSI Conference sponsored by DPS Career Education Center

Denver, CO -- Blood pattern analysis, fingerprinting, and solving crimes with insects are a few of the many crime scene investigation (CSI) topics covered at this week’s first-ever CSI conference, sponsored by Denver Public Schools Career Education Center.
The conference is for students, instructors and community members interested in learning more about the science of CSI. Proceeds from the conference will benefit the Ron DeHerrera scholarship fund, which helps students interested in majoring in Criminal Justice.
WHAT: CSI conference runs Thursday, Oct. 15 through Saturday, Oct. 17. A job fair is being held on Friday at the conference. Also Friday, Special Agent in Charge James Davis will make a presentation. New dispatch equipment will be showcased and demonstrated.
WHEN: Special Agent Davis will present Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All conference days begin at 8 a.m. Please see attached agenda.

• Determining time of Death from a Medical Examiner’s view
• Starting a Legal Clinic
• The FBI’s role in criminal investigations
• Setting up a CSI classroom
• DNA in laymen’s terms
• Denver DNA project
• Using fingerprinting to solve crimes
• Blood spatter
• High profile cases in Colorado
