Announcements

Five nationally reconized teachers are scheduled to give workshops when Denver Public Schools hosts the sixth annual Physical Education and Dance Summer Institute, June16-18.  All five teachers are National Teachers of the Year as recognized by the National Assciation for Sport and Physical Education.  Physical educators from DPS and other Colorado districts will be attending the Summer Institute held at Metropolitan State College of Denver. The event is sponsored by Sportime International, a physical education catalog retailer.

The workshop presenters include:

• Kelly Burnette - 2007 National Dance Association K-12 Dance Educator of the Year
• Stefany Anderson - 2007 Adapted Physical Education AAALF Teacher of the Year
• Pam Powers - 2004 NASPE Physical Education Elementary Teacher of the Year(Southwest District)
• James Arico - 2006 NASPE Physical Education Middle School Teacher of the Year (Central District)
• Deb Walter - 2007 NASPE Physical Education High School Teacher of the Year
