DPS Pupil Assistance Fund Receives $20,000 from Post-News Season To Share

DPS Pupil Assistance Fund (PAF) received $20,000 from the Post-News Season To Share to fund emergency clothing and winter coats to assistance DPS students from low-income families.
The 2007/2008 Post-News Season To Share campaign raised a record-breaking $2,197,500 that was distributed to 65 Denver-area nonprofit agencies. For 15 years, Post-News Season To Share has raised charitable donations that are matched and disbursed to local nonprofit organizations serving children as well as those who are in homeless situations, hungry or in need of medical care. Funds are raised through reader, community and corporate donations, and the McCormick Tribune Foundation matches each dollar donated with 50 cents. The Denver Newspaper Agency and the McCormick Tribune Foundation pay all administrative costs, allowing 100% of donations to go directly to charitable organizations. In total, the campaign has raised and distributed over $21,000,000.
The Denver Public School Pupil Assistance Fund will use its Post-News Season To Share funding to provide winter coats and emergency clothing to students to attend school who qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Referrals to the DPS Pupil Assistance Fund are made through school nurses, psychologists, and social workers. Please contact Kim Erickson, PAF Director at 720-423-8250 if need additional information about the Pupil Assistance Fund.
