DPS Seniors & Graduates Encouraged to Attend FAFSA workshops

DENVER – The Denver Scholarship Foundation is hosting 33 workshops throughout the city in February and March to help DPS seniors and recent graduates pay for college.

The workshops will provide students and their parents with one-on-one assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Students who qualify for the need-based DSF Scholarship can also receive help completing the online application which is due on April 1. The workshops will be staffed by DSF’s team of professional college and financial aid advisors, many of whom speak Spanish, along with numerous volunteers from the community.

“The process of applying for financial aid for college is daunting, but our team of advisors and volunteers are ready to help DPS students and their families successfully navigate the process,” said Cindy Abramson, DSF executive director. “Completing the FAFSA is a critical step toward paying for college, so I strongly encourage students and their parents to come to one of our workshops.”

The workshops run from February 3 to March 20 and will be held at high schools throughout the city. Attendees must bring the correct financial documents to the workshop in order to complete the FAFSA.
