After last year’s acclaimed Steinbeck Festival, DSA presents three plays be three award winning dramatists as part of their Festival of Women Playwrights from Feb 9-25. Each weekend a different production explores a variety of topics that have been central to issues that women have struggled with and/or had to address throughout history and into the present.
Lillian Hellman’s classic The Children’s Hour opens the festival Feb 9-11. In our age of social media and its unintended consequences, the 1934 drama remains relevant as it explores the struggle between truth and rumor when two female teachers are wrongly accused of having an affair at a prestigious all girls boarding school.
