School Performance Framework

School Performance Framework (SPF)

The School Performance Framework (SPF) is used to evaluate school performance in terms of student achievement and overall organizational strength using a variety of longitudinal measures. SPF is also used to determine a school’s accreditation rating for reporting purposes to the Colorado Department of Education, as well as provide information for teacher and principal compensation systems.

Denver Public Schools' School Performance Framework (SPF) is truly revolutionary in its ability to show a body of evidence that allows the district to see how much of an impact the schools are having on their students from year to year. The SPF will help the district determine how much students benefit from its schools and how much schools differ in their ability to educate their students.SPF is also a management tool that will help identify best practices across the district.

The overall goal of the SPF is to:

  • Improve overall student learning and achievement; and
  • Provide the most complete and comprehensive picture of how schools in DPS are performing.

Visit this site for up-to-date information about SPF. You can find links to general information about SPF, which include framework guides, rubrics, sample scorecards, a glossary of terms as they apply to SPF, and SPF presentation materials.
