Denver Bar Association Helps to Sponsor 2008 VIP Day at Denver Zoo for Students Experiencing Homelessness in DPS

Denver Public Schools (DPS) Students experiencing homelessness will have the opportunity to enjoy a free day at the Denver Zoo (complete with face-painting) with their families and receive a backpack full of school supplies on Sunday, August 10, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This program helps eliminate the educational barriers that these students face, allowing them to have a successful start to the school year. The event is by invitation only.
The drive, organized by the Denver Bar Association’s Community Action Network, will provide more than 300 filled backpacks to children in need. The children are students in Denver Public Schools or part of the Children’s Outreach Project.
More then 60 local law firms donated schools supplies and volunteers to the event.
