Denver West Aviation Maintenance student accepted to Tuskegee Airman Mile High Flight Program

Junior, MiLynda Montes, has been accepted to the Tuskegee Mile High Flight Program which is a one of a kind opportunity sponsored by the Denver Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen. Aspen Flying Club, United Airlines, The United States Airforce Academy, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and the University of Colorado are a few of the organizations that facilitate the program. Students from 7-12 participate in the program.
Phase 1 consist of field trips designed to increase student understanding of various aspects of the aviation industry, and highlight the many available opportunities. Students gain an insight on how to achieve career goals
"I am very proud of MiLynda. she is a go getter and will do very well in this program", Dave Yuskewich, West High School aviation Maintenance instructor.
Phase 2 of the program takes selected students to the next level of flight training, which includes the ground and flight instruction necessary to solo in a Cessna 172 type aircraft.
