George Washington High School Students Receive Recognition from the National Merit Scholars Program
Sunday, October 11, 2009
Four George Washington High School seniors qualified as National Merit Scholar Semi-finalists this fall: Brennan Harris, Chase Kernan, Luke Leichty, and Hannah McGehee. They join four other DPS seniors in this recognition; each student achieved a score above the 99th percentile on their PSAT exams. They are among the top 16,000 students of the 1.5 million students who took the exam in the fall of 2008.
In addition, seven GWHS seniors were recognized as National Merit Commended Scholars for scoring in the top two percent of students who took the PSAT test in their junior year. Those students are Sara Black, Julia Clark, Paige Dahlman, Robert Huggins, Kelsey Meyer, Erik Morrison, and Evan Webber.
The principal said, "We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of these students. Their hard work has paid off and we know it will continue do so in the future."
