George Washington Senior Aces the ACT
Sunday, October 11, 2009
George Washington High School senior Hannah McGehee earned a perfect score on the ACT college entrance exam—one of eight Colorado students who achieved a 36 this year. Her accomplishment will be recognized at a special luncheon hosted by the Colorado Department of Education this week.
Hannah is also a National Merit Scholar Semi-finalist (scoring above the 99th percentile on the PSAT test as a junior). She is in her final year of the International Baccalaureate Program at GWHS in Denver.
The principal said, "The entire George Washington High School community is extremly proud of Hannah's accomplishments and we know that she will continue to distinguish herself and Geoge Washington High school."
The GWHS IB program was the first founded in Colorado (1985) and attracts top students from the Denver Public Schools and from the surrounding suburbs. With 425 current students active in sports, music, drama, yearbook, newspaper and more, the International Baccalaureate students are very important to GW.
