School Performance Framework (SPF)

What is the School Performance Framework (SPF)?

The School Performance Framework (SPF) is a comprehensive, annual review of school performance, which is presented in the form of a scorecard that measures multiple performance criteria. It was created as a means of accrediting our schools as required by the Colorado Department of Education, but also as a way to give the district, our schools and the larger community the information they need to make critical, instructional decisions that will have the greatest impact on improving student achievement. In addition, the SPF will also eventually be used to inform both teacher and principal compensation systems.

The SPF focuses on two areas of interest: 1) Is the educational program a success? and 2) Is the organization effective and well run? The indicators that are evaluated for each are as follows:

Is the educational program a success? Is the organization effective and well run?

. • Student Progress over Time or Growth • School Demand

. • Student Achievement Level or Status • Parent & Community Engagement

. • College and Career Readiness

. • Student Engagement and Satisfaction

The SPF is a valuable tool for schools and the larger Denver community in that it provides multiple data points to evaluate overall school performance as well as outlines a roadmap for identifying areas of opportunity to grow, improve and drive student achievement.
