KC Kids "Reality Theme" 2008 Summer Camps

These programs are not affiliated with, sponsored, or endorsed by any other programs having similar names.

American Inventor-Yes you too can be an inventor.  New ideas do not come from dollars, facilities, or expensive machines, but from people!  You will have the opportunity to exercise creativity and imagination, to design and build inventive new projects.

Monster Garage-Campers will use their mechanical engineering skills while building and inventing.  They will work their way through an assembly line of fun projects and activities.  By the way, the secret behind Monster Garage is discovering the science behind how energy works, without the stress of a competition.

Survivor-You won't have to eat live insects, sleep among Malaysian field rats, or live on an isolated island for 39 days!  But you will.... incorporate physical activity while working through fun challenges, going through obstacles courses, and participating in team building activities.

The Amazing Race-Campers follow clues and codes while they make their way to imaginary checkpoints in places around the world, eventually racing back to the KC Kids finish line.  Campers work on activities, which represent the culture they are racing in.  Sssh!  While having fun, there is a great possibility of learning some geography!

American Idol-This week you will be America's Idol!  Campers will work together to improve listening skills, develop confidence on stage, foster storytelling skills, and explore their own IMAGINATION!  Get ready to play theater games, design props, scenery, and create a costume to star in KC Kids talent show on Friday afternoon.

Drama Kids -Get set to explore the fascinating world of theatre.  In this fun-filled week, we will act out skits, design, build sets, and play loads of games that are sure to bring the true actor out in you!  For the grand finale, we will perform a play for our friends and family.

Project Runway- Everyone is a winner!  Campers will design their very own apparel of his or hers choice!  Oh!  Did I forget to mention Campers would be using, non-traditional materials, pre-selected items, and recyclables!  While having fun, and sharing ideas, this group of designers is sure to start their own trend!

So You Think You Can Dance-Get out of your seat and move your feet, because this camp is hip to the beat.  While learning basic dance skills and techniques, you'll have fun while you bust a move, and learn how to groove.  Study dances including "The Cupid Shuffle," and "Crank Dat Soulja Boy."

The Next Great American Band-Shake, Rattle and Roll all through the week as we create the beat.  It's a rock & roll experience like no other.  Develop your musical skill and learn how to form a band.  This camp stresses individuality as an artist and includes team building fundamentals to develop confidence and stage presence.

Top Chef- KC Kids, become Chefs!  Campers will be able to learn basic cooking techniques, kitchen safety, and how to follow recipe directions.  They will also learn social grace and etiquette skills.  Chefs will make their own recipe book to share at home.
